Walk Stories

I use walking as a way of unleashing my imagination - a blend of mindfulness, therapy, and creativity. I get a lot of writer’s block when I’m sitting at home, but once I start, I’m usually fine. Short walks help me dip in and out of plots, and 'walk subplots' have become really useful for me.

My walk stories are a mix of prompts, techniques, and the actual stories I’m inspired to tell simply by being motivated through movement. These are video walk stories, so you can watch the walk as well as listen to the prompts. Or you can turn off the audio or the video if you prefer to be inspired in just one way.

I’m a kinesthetic learner, so I tend to learn best by doing. That’s probably why walking and plotting work so well for me as it’s a natural way to generate storytelling.

Below you’ll find videos and postcards. The postcards are taken from my travels, and each quote reflects the mood. These quotes are simply short stories, just a single sentence, that reflects the takeaway from my journey. I keep the walk stories short in the same respect, which just enough content to leave you with some inspiration to create your own stories. If you ever want to share your stories please do send them to communities@dreamwithcolour.com
